What are Status Effects In Cyberpunk 2077?

Status Effects are negative effects with short durations that can be applied to enemies or the player character during combat such Poison or Burn.

Some weapons including Katanas, SMGs, Shotguns and Grenades have the ability to apply Status Effects based on a percentage. Other Status Effects can be applied by Cyberware or even Perks.

Cyberpunk 2077 Status Effect Types

The 8 possible Negative Status Effects in Cyberpunk 2077 are:

  • Bleeding
  • Blinding
  • Burn
  • Crippled
  • EMP
  • Knockdown
  • Poison
  • Stun

Descriptions of each Status Effect as well as the Icon you should look out for are listed below.

Blinding Briefly reduces threat detection and hinders movement.
Burn Continuously depletes health.
Crippled Severely limits combat or movement effectiveness depending on which limb is crippled.
EMP Briefly deactivates or severely limits the combat effectiveness of mechs, drones, and robots, in addition to dealing damage.
Knockdown Briefly knocks to the ground, revealing weakspots.
Poison Slowly depletes health, reduces armour, and slows movement.
Stun Briefly immobilizes, leaving vulnerable to attack.

  • Panacea (Clothing Mod) – Shock & Poison Immunity

  • Fireproof Coating (Cyberware) – Burn Immunity
  • Supra-Dermal Weave (Cyberware) – Bleeding Immunity

  • Immunity (Cold Blood Perk, level 20) – Burn, Poison, Shock Immunity
  • Aggressive Antitoxins (Stealth Perk, level 11) – Poison Immunity

Fireproof Coating cyberware grants immunity to the Burn Status Effect.
